Welcome to the California Central Coast Chapter of PFLAG- Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. PFLAG is a national non-profit, 501 (c)3 organization.

We promote the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and questioning persons, and their families and friends through:

SUPPORT: to cope with an adverse society.

EDUCATION: to enlighten an ill informed public.

ADVOCACY: to end discrimination and secure equal civil rights.

PFLAG provides an opportunity to dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.

Outreach includes a member supported information table during the SLO county Thursday Night Farmer’s Market. We have an education team that meets with a variety of community organizations, such as school administrators & teachers, small businesses, and any other individual or group who requests our educational services. We also provide resources and support for PFLAG’s SAFE Schools project and the Straight For Equality campaign.

Our chapter supports GLBTQ friendly organizations, including GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) clubs in local high schools. In short, we will support and encourage anyone who seeks it from us. Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive and confidential space for the San Luis Obispo community to meet and learn about homosexuality and gender identity.

Chapter Meetings:

Support Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of every month at the GALA Center (click here for map) from 7-8:30 PM.

The Board meets prior to the general meeting from 5:30 – 7PM and is open to the public.
